State of Online Poker Fall 2010 – the online poker landscape has been changing for the USA player in the last few years since the passing of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act or UIGEA. Less online poker rooms accepting USA players and new regulations and restrictions have come into force that make it more difficult for players to find a reputable online poker room that will accept their gaming funds. This is due mainly to the Fact that many banks and credit card companies in the US have stopped their services to US Players making it more difficult to move funds to and from online poker rooms.
However, there are still many great places for players to continue playing online poker at. Such places include Party Poker, Poker Stars, QQdewa, Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker, Ultimate Bet, recalcuto, Absolute Poker download, Party Poker Party Poker Party and PKR. PKR is among the largest poker rooms accepting USA poker players and they have an instant $500 bonus for anyone willing to play Texas Hold’em. Absolute Poker is one of the few rooms still accepting US Players after the UIGEA was passed into law. I like to play on both sites to ensure I can play in the rooms that I enjoy the best. As I mentioned earlier, I currently play on Party Poker and have done so for a short time, but I plan to slowly work my way up to the bigger sites as my bankroll grows.
It is unfortunate that there are fewer poker rooms for US players compared to the number of rooms that accept UK players. This is due to the fact that the smaller online poker rooms do not have the financial ability to attract the players necessary to keep the house profitable. Bigger poker rooms also have to battle against the small player in a variety of forums such as the renowned PokerStars.com.
Party Poker is surprised at the number of players they are receiving from the UK. When they first launched Party Poker for the UK market, they received a warm welcome from the online poker community, but the Party Poker for the US market was a little easier to accept. There was some outright anger from some quarters that Party Poker was not accepting UK players, as they feel it is a unfair playing field for the small internet poker room.
However, the friendly online poker community in general and many articles like this one will still prove to be beneficial for the Party Poker for the UK player in the long run. I believe Party Poker will be just fine as more and more players from the UK begin to discover the joys of playing online poker. As such, it is best to get used to the online poker software, user interface, and user-friendliness before accepting players from throughout the world.
